Satyamev Jayate - Episode II

I am posting this in the local lingo. Please forgive me if there are any mistakes in the post. Im not very fluent in the language as I am with English. I have googled the Hindi version of some words which may or may not be correct. Apologies.

Kal ki episode mein jo issue ki charcha hui thi woh hai Baal Utpidan. Har maa baap ko iss vishay ki gyan honi chahiye. Kyunki yeh hamare ghar mein bhi ho sakta hai. Hum yeh sochke rehte hai ki hamare bache ghar aur gharwaalon ke saath mehfooz aur surakshyt hai. Par sach tho yeh hai ki yeh har ghar mein nahi hota.

Kal hume yeh dekhne ko mila ki jin bachon ke saath yeh hua tha woh shikshyt pade likhe log hai naa ki unpadd log.

Saas, Bahu Aur Saazish!

A couple of years ago I was reading a news item on Yahoo and blogged about it. I am sharing this here :)

I was reading a post on yahoo about some of the TV serials of yore and I couldn’t but feel nostalgic! Those were the NON Ekta Kapoor Days when clean and family oriented serials were the norm. The vamps did not sport huge & colourful bindis spanning their entire forehead nor did they wear blouses with such deep cuts at the back that one was left wondering about the lack of material in the costume department!

Those were the days when I first landed on the shores of India, when we had just bought a new TV and ours was the first house in the building to have a colour tv thanks to having a dad in the Gulf!

Satyamev Jayate - On Female Foeticide

Ladki ghar Ki Izzat Hoti Hai, Par Ladki Ki Koi Izzat Nahi. Usse Jeene Ki Ijjazat bhi Nahi........

Yesterday, the first episode of Aamir Khan's much awaited TV Show aired. And the topic under discussion was a topic that is very much prevalent in our society and a topic that is swept under the carpet and hidden from view.

Watching that show yesterday didnt make me cry as it did many women on the Show. It made me angry - angry that I as a citizen have not done anything, angry that I as a person believed like the rest that it was an issue of the past, and angry that as a woman Ive done nothing about it.

ThE MomenT i OpeneD mY ♥

The moment I opened my heart & let u in
I saw this great love ♥ starting to begin
I opened my eyes to a vision of "YOU ♥"
I hope I pray ur feelings are true
I have loved & I have paid the cost
And I have felt the pain of the love i lost
But, now I think I have truly found
An Angel who walks upon the ground
You go beyond all limits for me
Just to show ur love endlessly
I could search my whole life through
And never find another "YOU ♥"
You are so special that I wanted u to know
I truly completely love u so..... ♥ ♥ ♥

Mail sent by Narayan Murthy

Mail sent by Narayan Murthy to all Infosys staff:

It’s half past 8 in the office but the lights are still on… PCs still running, coffee machines still buzzing… And who’s at work? Most of them ??? Take a closer look…

All or most specimens are ?? Something male species of the human race…

Look closer… again all or most of them are bachelors…

And why are they sitting late? Working hard? No way!!! Any guesses??? Let’s ask one of them… Here’s what he says… ‘What’s there 2 do after going home…Here we get to surf, AC, phone, food, coffee that is why I am working late…Importantly no bossssssss!!!!!!!!!!!’

This is the scene in most research centers and software companies and other off-shore offices.

Chubb Fellow - SRK...:)

Ok, I was wracking my brains to find something POSITIVE to post here as a FIRST post or should I say - First Post of the Second Innings - here in the Group. I wasnt very successful - for one, work is hectic and two, I would normally post something serious - but decided to begin the Second Innings with something LIGHT...:)

SRK was recently made CHUBB FELLOW at YALE in the US. His detention and subsequent brouhaha that ensued - we shall leave that for another thread to debate on - (yes im peeved)....but I was really touched by some of the things he said in his speech.

A Sad Loss…

Since we are celebrating 100 Years of Indian Cinema, we cannot forget those greats whom we have lost. The year 2011 saw the demise of some great stars of their time. This post I dedicate to those who have left us for their heavenly abode.

Shammi Kapoor – Ah! His dancing was something that many of us have tried to imitate. He did the twist dance with panache! Word has it that Shammi Jee always came to the sets of the movie in the mood that he was supposed to portray on screen that day. If he was to do a sad scene he would be very sorrowful when he came for the shoot and if it was a dance sequence – well you can guess that he would have been like a jitterbug!...:)

Sardar again

A Sardar went to a bank to open a S.B. A/C.
After seeing the Form he went to Delhi for filling it up.
You know why?
Form said:" Fill Up In Capital."

Sardarji standing below a tube light with an open mouth.
Why?
Because his doctor advised him:
"Today's dinner should be light!"

One Sardarji professor asked a plumber to come to his college.
You know why?
Because he wanted to check where the question paper is leaking.

Santa! Your daughter has died!
Depressed, Sardar jumps from 100th floor.
At 50th floor he remembers I don't have a daughter!
At 25th floor he remembers I'm unmarried!
At 10th floor he remembers I'm Banta not Santa!

Sardar found the answer to the most difficult question ever.
What will come first, chicken or egg?

100 Years of Indian Cinema

Indian Cinema has come a long way since the very first film released in the Year 1913. Indian Cinema has seen the likes of greats like Madhubala, Vijayanthimala, Waheeda Rehman, and many many more who have graced the screens and ruled our hearts.

The 50's, 60's, 70's & 80's were those golden years when melodious songs ruled the roost. Nowadays all we get to hear is just a cacophony of noise in the name of music and the lyrics leave a lot to be desired!

I remember these songs which still manage to move me and uplift my spirits. They are some of my all time favorites!
