Great selection of authentic Arabic food. Worth a visit - one of the Arabic originals in Qatar.

This Arabic restaurant has a large menu, but whatever you order seems to come with a huge pile of freshly baked Arabic bread. Portions, as in most places in Doha, are large, so don't expect to finish everything. In the afternoon the restaurant seems to be most inhabited by business people.

I am not sure what all the hype is about this restaurant. At best it is average middle easter food.

There is another branch of this restaurant right behind Landmark. The service is great, the food is like a home cooked meal and it also has the same authentic arabic floor seating as the Al Sadd branch. Great place to go for a quiet, lazy meal.

The menu is a hotch potch of Arabic, Indian, North American and European dishes. In other words this restaurant is only Arabic by name, not taste. The head chef must be a jack of all dishes but has mastered none. As Al-Majlis claims to be an Arabic restaurant you would expect at least the Arabic dishes to be of a good standard. Unfortunately, you'll have no such luck at this place. I've tasted better Arabic food at the local Lebanese cafe.

I've given Al-Majlis 1 out of 5 because the Umm Ali was reasonable and the seating arrangements are good for private conversation.

We love the Majlis for the seafood machboos and for the atmosphere. It is one of our favorite places to take out-of-town guests when they come, it is an unforgettable experience. For those uncomfortable sitting on the floor, there are also booths, but the private rooms are an experience in themselves. It is not so easy to find, and parking can be problematic, but we think it is worth it.
