I went to Le Notre when it just opened, about 3 weeks ago,at lunchtime,we were pleasantly surprised by the buffet lunch at 50 riyals, with a good selection of salads, smoked salmon, prawns ect...and you are given a lovely basket of bread, with balsamic and olive oil.The service is very good and the décor is pleasant. We normally go to Paul for a salad which are also good, but Le Notre has more choices since it is a buffet and a very reasonable price.
I recommend this place.Eve

Really great food and ambiance. Everything we have tried on the menu has been great. The breakfast was not all that good though, lots of food, but not great food.

Had a club sandwich for lunch there last week. The bread was burnt and not just slightly, it was black! When I complained to the waiting staff they were not interested. The filling was ok though :)

Decent restaurant - decent food. I wouldn't say exceptional food.. but no unpleasant surprises in my experience. I have twice eaten their pasta dishes which were heavy but well made. Nice to have a menu with some vegetarian options.
If anything - I found the service to be a little overbearing.

I've been to the Salwa Rd. branch many times, although I haven't been since they re-opened.
I've always had very good food and very good service there, which I can't honestly say about many restaurants in Doha.
Their menu has an interesting selection and I've never been disappointed in what I ordered.
One of the few places where you can find a salad bar.

Salwa Road Branch is a lot better then Villagio.
Food is normally good, but the service especially in Villagio is a disaster.Breakfast I wouldnt go there twice, basic Croissant &Danish Items are only available in limited edition and the Lebanese Restaurant Manager couldnt give a Mickey Mouse about the people who pay his salary.Wake up guys, its not only the interior what makes the restaurant.

We spent a lots of money for lunch there last year and we were not so much for it .( Villaggio branch)
They were not very friendly with kids .it was rush hours and they forgot to serve the appetizers and brought the main dish at once - oriental chicken breast which was the least tasty oriental chicken I have ever had ... it was so plain almost school canteen style .. with the appetizer served after the main dish :)

If I return one day then I will go there without kids , on a quiet Friday morning to taste their buffet breakfast ...

Though I was not fascinated by the lunch we had there a year ago - I decided then to try their breakfast . The buffet table's selection were not as big as I expected ...though there were a large selection of cakes - somehow this was not exactly the thing I wished to have for my breakfast .I expected a lots of bakery products , some cereals - but we found only some little croissants and that was all . We were almost disappointed and took some grilled frankfurters and some salads with tiny sandwiches when it turned out that some parts of the breakfast are served for you as it is freshly prepared . In a bowl they served the rolls and bread - which were excellent ... their American coffee was also very good . The selection of drink is only tea or coffee . I expected some freshly made orange juice - but such thing was not included in the price . They served for as an omlette -which was rather a plain thing ,falafel -wonderful and the freshly made fatira stuffed with cheese or vegetables were also five star dish .
As you can notice it was a blend of Arabic and continental morning dishes ...
After all it was not bad - especially if you know what to expect ...The place was half empty - some local families had breakfast there and some western looking ones .. The background music was the jazz hits from 1930's ...The waitresses really were waiting , standing by to take away the plates or to serve you .
You pay 59 QR for that + 12% service charges ...
As not too many places have buffet breakfast in Doha - this place can be called the number one buffet breakfast cafe here ...

the staff of le Notre are not friendly. the prices are high, so expensive for family. or even for invited friends for coffee. main courses are not always good. they are better in deserts and beverages i find it more as a cafe rather than a resturant
