Description:

The new address ideally located in the busy old city center, the Swiss-Belhotel Doha, offers a new dining place in town.
The Maxill restaurant is a unique concept of an a la carte world cuisine (all day dining) restaurant in a cozy setting. A show kitchen is the eye catcher of this dining place. Very friendly, attentive but speedy service employees have taken care of us.
My daughter loves the pizzas, not too big in size, just fine for the appetite of a kid. To mention that the chefs do not put pepper or spices for the kid’s meals. The menu on offers is for every taste and I do like a lot the smart menu combination we could create ourselves like a medium sized grilled beef tenderloin, fish, prawns and half a lobster. I ordered a beef tenderloin and added some shrimps, a side dish and a very tasty pepper dip. The presentation was surprising us a lot. Nice plates, placing artfully the food on the china, placing the side dish in small bowls directly on the plate. The murgh masalm (chicken curry) is a must.
The restaurant is non-smoking, but the service employees told me that the Café Mezz, just besides the Maxill, is for smokers and they offered me to move our beverages to the Café Mezz. Nice.
We had a coffee at the Café Mezz and I loved the chocolate they served with it. Not just cookies or wrapped commercial chocolates, no, home made chocolate basket with a great filling of raspberry. My daughter had a cola and we again been surprised the way they served it. On a small oval tray the place the glass, the coke and again a small bowl of peanut. The beverage list is something, seldom having seen such a nice card with plenty to choose from. I was astonished how many non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails they offer, great. The prices are very reasonable and real value for money. The flat screen TV is not disturbing at all. News papers and magazines are on offer. We loved the sofas and relaxed a lot. Again the employees are helpful and always with a natural smile. I noticed that WIFI is available and I will come back for a coffee. The WIFI is free but not only in the public areas, also all the rooms have free internet connection as Melinda, the bar supervisor explained us.
For us it was a nice experience and we will be back. In case you forgot your reading glasses, don’t worry, they have it for you.
